Sukata Judo BJJ Academy was founded in 2012 by David Chastell.
​A life long Martial Artist David has trained in Judo since the age of 14 gaining his Black Belt from Brian Cheek (10th Dan) and then went on to have this grade ratified by the following organisations:
All England Judo Federation (AEJF)
International Budo Council (IBC)
International Budo Federation (IBF)
British Judo Association (BJA) ​
David also gained his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) under 2 x European Champion Gary Savage. David has competed Nationally and at European level in Judo, captaining the Hertfordshire Judo Squad for a short period as well as winning the All England Judo Nationals a record 8 times​​
